There’s a special feeling that comes with pulling the Mocha Motion Coffee truck into the same spot at the Elizabethtown Fair for the third year in a row.
Before the crowds arrived, other vendors were already stopping by the truck. There were hugs, conversations and plenty of catching up with people we may only see once a year. At some point, the Etown Fair stopped feeling like just another event on our calendar. It started feeling a little more like coming back to a neighborhood.
Our Fair Week Neighbors
For all three years, Porky’s Last Stand from Myerstown has been our neighbor. After spending three fairs side by side, you get to know the crew and their tasty BBQ. You catch up on business, family and everything that has happened since last year.
This year, we also got to know our neighbors from Country Barn in Mountville. They served some of the best corn we’ve ever had, and yes, we went back for more.
Around the fairgrounds, we caught up with friends from Piper Belles BBQ, Castanedas, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, and Funcky Candy Xpress.
That’s one thing we’ve come to love about running a mobile coffee business and working events around Lancaster County. The other trucks and vendors start becoming friends too.
Before the rush, there’s time to talk about how business is going, what’s happening at home and the challenges everyone is working through. Then the gates open, and it’s time to get to work.
And Then There’s You
We saw plenty of familiar faces on the other side of the window too.
Etown families who found us at previous fairs came back for their drinks. First responders stopped over for caffeine. Third shifters grabbed something before heading into work. Regulars from around Lancaster County made their way out to see us too.
Sometimes we remembered a face. Sometimes we remembered an order. Either way, seeing you come back means a lot. There are plenty of choices at the fair. The fact that you choose to spend a few minutes of your week with us is something we don’t take for granted.

It takes a lot of people to make a week like this happen: the Elizabethtown Fair team, volunteers, police and first responders, vendors, food trucks and all the people working behind the scenes.
We’re grateful to be one small part of it.
After our third year, what sticks with us most isn’t how many drinks we made. It’s the people we got to serve, the friends we got to see again and the new ones we made along the way.
Thank you, Etown, for another great fair week. We can’t wait to pull into that spot again next year.
